Integrated on the top of our partner’s high-performance superstructures, Erlab’s GreenFumeHood filtration technology captures and retains emissions produced during chemical handlings.  With over 50 years of Research and Development experience, Erlab’s R&D team has produced the most effective chemical filtration technology available.  The Neutrodine®Unisorb filtration technology greatly increases the retention capacity of vapors emitted from chemical handlings. The most significant improvement was made for those molecules known to be the most difficult to retain (polar VOCs) with traditional activated carbon filters.

Our GFH filtration technology integrated on our partners’ fume hood superstructures comply with ANSI Z9.5, CSA Z316.5-2020, ASHRAE 110, and ASHRAE 241-Improved IAQ standard.  Erlab has developed our GFH filtration to meet AFNOR NF X15-211 standard which is the most stringent filtration standard.

This new technology, developed by the Erlab R&D laboratory for over 5 years, has been tested hundreds of times, from the first filtration material trials right up to the performance evaluation of these new filters in real-life situations.

Neutrodine Unisorb greatly increases the retention capacity for most vapors emitted by laboratory procedures. These improvements are significant for the molecules known to be the most difficult to retain with classic activated carbon filters, namely polar VOCs with low molar mass and boiling points.

This research was the subject of 2 new patents filed by Erlab:

  • Filter anti-settling system: US patent number 7,563,301
  • Neutrodine Unisorb™ filter: US patent application number 12/465,434

Sustainability

Learn More

GreenFumeHood filtration technology makes your lab more sustainable.  By not over ventilating lab space and eliminating large hazardous exhaust fans, the energy to operate your lab is significantly decreased.  In a study conducted by BR+A Consulting Engineers, the 20-year operational carbon footprint is reduced by 94% in a one-to-one comparison of ductless hoods provided with Erlab’s GFH technology compared to ducted hoods.  On two AIA COTE Top Ten award-winning projects, Bristol Community College and Lafayette College, GFH technology was deemed the linchpin to Zero Net Energy and a 40% reduction in carbon emissions respectively.

Flexibility

Learn More

Designed to fit our partner’s superstructure, Erlab Above quickly and economically makes a lab operational.  The operational hood does not affect lab airflow balance and adds effective air changes to the lab.

Requiring no exhaust ducts and no connections other than to a 120V power, the laboratory is ready to operate in just a few hours.

Ductless hoods can be moved and allow laboratories to be reconfigured easily as programs evolve such as with swing spaces and flex labs.
